STOP the HATE empowers queer people and makes hate crime visible. Together with the community, with public authorities and with businesses that take a stand.
Why we act
Cases of hate crime against queer people have reached a new, alarming high.
The campaign’s main goals are to strengthen empowerment within the LGBTIQ* community and to raise awareness of hate crime against LGBTIQ* people through prevention work.
stop-the-hate.de is your source of information. It makes clear what rights you have and prepares you for encounters with the police.
Hate and hate speech against queer people have no place in our society.
To take with you
Our brochure (in German) sums up the essentials: what you can do in an emergency, the LGBTIQ* liaison officers of the police in Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Bremen and Lower Saxony, and how to report online hate.
Would you like to display the brochure at your association, counselling service or police station? Write to us at info@stop-the-hate.de.
Learning & workshops
Two workshops for schools, clubs, public administration and the police: “Hinschauen. Handeln.” (Look. Act.) on hate crime and “Nicht wegscrollen.” (Don’t scroll past.) on online hate. Two people from our team come to you and facilitate.
Hate against queer people concerns everyone, businesses included. As a supporter of STOP the HATE, you send a visible signal for diversity and respect: to your employees, your customers and the region.

From the community
We believe it is vital to respond to our community’s needs and to encourage people to take the initiative. That’s how STOP the HATE grew out of the lived reality of queer people, to take lasting action against hate and violence.
